When we build each other up, we inspire others to do the same...
I remember in school being put down constantly by others. I'm sure I did the same thing as well because I wanted them to feel the same way I did. At some point, not exactly sure when, I figured out that what we put out there returns to us. So, negative vibes come back in negative ways and positive vibes come back in positive ways. Sounds pretty simple, right?
I know it can be hard when we feel like we have been put down our whole lives. That's the negative vibe we're putting out there. Those negative vibes or thoughts attract more negative thoughts. It haunts us because we have not learned how to break the cycle of negative thoughts and talk. To move on, to become more positive, we must STOP putting ourselves down. We must STOP believing the bad others say. We must STOP thinking we are not good enough. We are what we believe ourselves to be
If you only look for the negative, you will only find the negative. -L. Zeigler
The first thing we need to learn is that other people's attitudes and opinions are a direct reflection of them, not us. Once we understand this, the realization that we are what we believe we are starts to take shape. Nothing they say or do to us is our fault. That statement alone can be life changing, so let me repeat... Nothing they say or do to us is our fault.
Now for the hard part... We are magical just the way we are and the only person that needs to believe that is us. The only person that can change that is us. We must believe in ourselves to stop the endless cycle of not feeling like we are good enough. There is ALWAYS going to be someone that will find a flaw in everything we do, and that's ok. They are not us.
I said in the beginning, when we build each other up, we inspire others to do the same. The world is filled with people constantly tearing each other down and the media (news, movies, TV shows, video games, FB) perpetuate this phenomenon. Is is our turn to take control and begin to change this.
When we compliment others, we change this. We inspire others.
When we stop gossiping, we change this. We inspire others.
When we smile at our "enemy", we change this. We inspire others.
When we look for compromise, we change this. We inspire others.
When we change our outlook, we change this. We inspire others.
And I return to this...
The ripple starts with you. You inspire others.
For those of you that are creative but unsure where to start, I found this website that has video lessons for doing art projects. It is a subscription site and I do get credits for you using the link.
