When we dwell in negativity, we live a negative life. Life does not have to be that way. We can flip the switch and turn on the positive!
Harping Away
I know, I know, I keep harping on this. Well, if I didn't truly believe it and know that we can change it, I wouldn't continue to talk about it.
So, let's talk for a minute. I see people all of the time moping around. They are never happy. They always find something to complain about. They bring negative energy into whatever room or conversation they enter. I'm sure you know people like that too. That is their choice to be that way, to stay that way. (Let me say this, I know there is depression and other health issues. I also believe you can let those issues either define you or refine you. It is your choice, your switch to flip.)
Keep it positive.

Conscious Choices
Enough about others, let's think about us for a minute. We must make a conscious choice to not dwell and take up residence in the negative. This choice affects the day we have. If we choose negative, our day will be negative, maybe even downright shitty. If, however, we choose positive, our day will reflect that choice. For example if we wake up and think oh man, I've got to go to work today... in all technicality, that is negative. If we wake up and think wow, I have a job to go to or I have the opportunity to inspire someone today, then that is a positive outlook.
Now, I'm not going to say our day will be completely rainbows and unicorns. I will say that if we choose positive, then when something off, bad, or negative happens, our reaction to that event will be different. Our reaction should have a positive tone to it.
Practice, Practice, Practice
This practice doesn't happen overnight. It takes time to relearn the way we see things. We still will have times where finding the positive is hard. I still struggle sometimes, but I wake up everyday with the intention to be positive, just like I switch on the light everyday. I consciously choose to stay positive. I also consciously choose the situations I enter into and remove myself from during the course of the day. I practice being positive everyday and bringing positive energy to whatever situation I find myself.
Like I said, it's not always easy and I stumble sometimes, okay lots of times. The most important idea is when I stumble, I don't stay there. I get back up and again I flip the switch from negative back to positive. I continue to try and find the positive in all situations.
Here's the Challenge
I have found that we must believe we can be positive to actually be positive. If we keep dwelling in the past or negativity, we will never believe beyond what we can see, negative. So, let's take today and make a promise to ourselves to wake up everyday and flip our switch to the positive.
Say... "I will move forward today with a positive outlook. I will make the conscious choice to remain positive all day. If I should stumble, I will get back up and flip my switch back to positive!"
